Bath offering gorgeous vistas of Merrymeeting Bay on the way to Bird Island, the largest in a series of ledges extending from Brick Island in the middle of Merrymeeting Bay. Bird Island itself is a magnificent place to see birds of many species, including eagles, cormorants, song sparrows, yellow throats and warblers. Time permitting; the tour will include a trip to Brick Island and possibly Sturgeon Island as well. All are welcome—intermediate paddling skills, boat, PFD and a love of nature, are the only requirements. Paddlers will meet in North Bath’s Butler Cove. Come rain or shine. Pre-registration required.
